The Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and officers from the Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad are seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down a man who allegedly stole hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from the Smith Haven Mall.

Investigators released a surveillance photo of a suspect who allegedly stole $1,400 worth of clothing from Macy’s at the mall at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Police described the suspect as an African American with a beard, who was wearing a baseball hat, glasses and camouflage jacket at the time of the alleged theft.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or who has information regarding the robbery has been asked to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-220-TIPS or texting “SCPD” with the message to 274637.
